03/29/2011 Rehab Manager

Responsible for directing the clinical and contract rehabilitation operations of a specific scope of practice, as designated by the Regional Manager. Supervised by and works with the Regional manager or Senior VP, Rehab Manager will achieve specific financial, employee relations, customer service and clinical objective through strong leadership and effective management of staff and customers. Accountable for building the existing practice. In addition, this position includes the responsibilities and essential functions documented on the existing clinical job description for the relevant discipline of the individual fulfilling this position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business related field and/or degree in PT, OT or SLP. The post holder may either be a Registered Therapist or an Assistant with additional qualifications/relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Management and supervision skills, communication skills, organizational skills, financial planning and budgeting skills, knowledge of therapy industry and federal, state, and local government regulations, valid driver's license and auto insurance required for travel.
  • Demonstrable and exceptional clinical reasoning skills and an ability to serve as mentor and/or coach to providers of patient care within and outside of own discipline.
  • High level of regulatory knowledge, and demonstrable willingness to remain updated and appraised of changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Interpersonal and oral communication skills that promote participation, teamwork and customer service.
  • Highly developed customer service skills.
  • Computer skills sufficient to allow effective management and compliance with weekly data reporting systems, payroll and expense reporting.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently during the course of a workday
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs of dead weight alone.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit and reach frequently during the course of the average workday.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to focus.
  • Fine motor skills for writing, charting, computer use, efficient and effective use of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

Working conditions will be general office and skilled nursing facility environment.
